Clay tiles are manufactured in three distinctive styles,
hand made,
machine made and large format. There is
also a large second
hand market, which should not be
ignored when making your choice.
The large format tiles are similar to those of concrete
while the majority
of machine or hand made are
described as plain.
The machine made tile offers a more uniformed, clean
cut appearance
with the hand made being more rustic
and traditional - for obvious
reasons, the hand made tile
is more expensive than its man made
equivalent. If matching to an existing clay tile roof it is important to
talk to
Coleman Roofing Supplies before ordering, and always
ensure a
sample is available.
Creasing tiles (or nibbles tiles) are also available and are technically
a tile, but would generally be used like a brick
or cill. They add
contrast and act as a decorative feature
to a building.
Always refer to Coleman Roofing Supplies for samples, colour guide, specification and fitting instructions.
